"On this reggae-ish/funk ditty written by John Martinez in 1994, I decided to put my trademark sounds/lines/vocal hooks. John commented that my vocals sounded Euro-pop, so I finished it in that vein.
I re-purposed some lyrics about prime numbers I had written awhile ago; hence the name as well. Prime numbers are natural numbers with only two distinct divisors. The idea of such a phenomenon has influenced French composer, Messiaen, and films such as The Mirror Has Two Faces”. To pun on the idea of one’s main squeeze the lyrics say 'Baby you’re my prime number'.
I also ran with idea of my voice is as an instrument, hence the arrangement." ~ Shueh-li
